Animation is a transformative UX design tool; Used to guide attention, convey information, and ensure seamless user journeys. Motion can be applied to prototypes that engage users, communicate design intent to developers and preview expected behaviors with stakeholders.
UX designers using traditional design and cutting-edge animation techniques shape a future where UX design doesn't merely captivate visually but empowers intuition and efficiency.
Emergency Services
As the Lead UX Designer for the 999 and 911 Emergency Medical Service System upgrade in London, Phoenix, and Chicago, I helped modernize dispatch software running on legacy Windows NT. Challenged with upgrading hardware and software London reached out first, asking us to implement a user experience pipeline. I created designs, prototypes and animations and embedded with the research team and dispatchers in each city, immersing ourselves in their operational environment.
Lighting Controls
UX research and design play a critical role in shaping the success of both software and hardware solutions. One notable convergence can be found in the partnership between ULINE, the premier supplier of shipping materials to Amazon.com, and Synapse Wireless a manufacturer of IoT mesh network devices and software.
ULINE faced a complex challenge: Adhere to stringent green energy regulations but also maintain an unwavering commitment to providing a bright and safe work environment beyond the typical warehouse.
Gene Search
As the Lead UX Designer for a gene-search tool providing results for over 20 million cDNA clones across several product categories, I tackled a critical challenge faced by the client: a front-heavy gene search process. The existing system required users to possess specific gene IDs from diverse public databases, leading to confusion and incomplete transactions.
The data-driven approach, coupled with stakeholder collaboration and prototype testing, ensured a successful rollout with tangible business impact.
